Engine Options and Specs

The 2024 Chevy Colorado has received an impressive update to its powertrain lineup in the past year that promises power and fuel economy at every turn. Chevy Colorado models are powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is available in three variants – Turbo, Turbo Plus and Turbo High-Output – that are paired with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission.

The entry-level 2.7-liter Turbo engine will make 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. The 2.7-liter Turbo Plus powertrain upgrades performance numbers to 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The 2.7-liter Turbo High-Output will produce 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. When equipped for towing, Turbo Plus and Turbo High-Output variants will tow up to 7,700 pounds of cargo with a payload capacity of 1,684 pounds. Ford Ranger models employ a 270-horsepower 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder, an available 315-horsepower 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V-6 and a 405-horsepower 3.0-liter EcoBoost® V-6 exclusive to the Ranger Raptor.
