The current 2022 Chevy Colorado features a trio of engine options - a 200-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder, a 308-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 and a 181-horsepower 2.8-liter Duramax® Turbodiesel - that are married to a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2022 Chevy Colorado will tow up to 7,000 pounds of cargo.
Next-generation 2023 Chevy Colorado entries replace the trio of powertrains with a single 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission that features three distinct power outputs. The standard 2.7-liter Turbo will make 237 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque. New 2.7-liter Turbo Plus powertrains will make 310 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque and the 2.7-liter Turbo High-Output engine will deliver 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Armed with the updated powertrain, the 2023 Chevy Colorado will tow up to 7,700 pounds of cargo.
